Third tier Italian side Foggia are working hard to convince Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci to agree to a move to the club before the transfer window slams shut.

Antenucci has been chased by a number of Italian clubs in the current transfer window, with sides in his homeland all too aware that his contract with Leeds runs out in the summer.

Foggia are leading the race and according to Sky Italia are involved in one great last push to convince Antenucci to join them.

The club are fighting for promotion to Serie B and believe that Antenucci could be decisive in helping them climb up to Italian football's second tier.

Discussions are ongoing between the club and Antenucci's representatives in a bid to persuade the striker the move would be the right one for him.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds would allow Antenucci to leave so close to the shutting of the transfer window and without having secured a replacement.

However, Leeds too are continuing to work on their own targets and the Whites could yet bring in another striker before the window closes.
