Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has joked at Mario Balotelli after the striker came off the bench for AC Milan in the Milan derby and picked up a yellow card within minutes of his introduction.

Balotelli has so far failed to win over AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and only started on the bench in the Serie A clash against rivals Inter.

The Rossoneri took the lead in the 35th minute through Alex, while Carlos Bacca then doubled their advantage in the 73rd minute. M'Baye Niang then killed off Inter by making it 3-0 in the 77th minute.

It was to be Niang's final act as he made way for Balotelli soon afterwards.

The striker, on loan from Liverpool, quickly committed a bad foul and was shown a yellow card.

And Carragher, who was in the crowd at the San Siro, mocked the Italian, a player he has consistently argued is a poor fit for Liverpool.

Posting a photograph of Balotelli coming on, Carragher wrote on social media: "Yellow card 20 seconds #marioisback."

Balotelli may be back at Liverpool in the summer amid suggestions AC Milan do not want to keep him on a permanent basis.
