Leeds United could rival Genoa for veteran Italian striker Antonio Floro Flores, who currently plays for Sassuolo.

The 32-year-old has been linked with moving to Genoa, but a deal is not done yet and Leeds are lurking on deadline day.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, the former Napoli striker has been the subject of an enquiry from Leeds.

The Whites are looking to bring in another striker, while if Mirco Antenucci leaves Elland Road today their need would become even greater.

But Genoa, the club Floro Flores joined current club Sassuolo from, remain favourites to scoop up his signature if he does move today.

So far this season the 32-year-old has made 16 appearances for Sassuolo, 14 coming in Serie A, and has hit the back of the net on four occasions.

His contract with Sassuolo is due to expire in the summer, something which may mean he is available for a nominal fee this month, if his current club wish to avoid risking losing him on a free transfer.
