Fiorentina have confirmed that they have snapped up defender Yohan Benalouane from Leicester City.

Benalouane has joined up with the Serie A outfit on loan until the end of the season, while Fiorentina will have an option to keep him on a permanent basis if he impresses during his time at the club.

Leicester only signed the 28-year-old from Italian side Atalanta last summer, splashing out around €8m to capture the former Saint-Etienne player.

He struggled to make an impact at the King Power Stadium and is now returning to the familiar surroundings of Serie A.

Fiorentina currently sit in third spot in Serie A after taking 42 points from their opening 22 games.
