Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink concedes that an injury suffered by Kurt Zouma in his side's 1-1 draw at home against Manchester United today does not look good.

Zouma jumped for a ball in the 55th minute, but landed awkwardly and appeared to have twisted his knee. The defender had to undergo treatment and was eventually replaced by John Terry.

The France international looked to be in considerable pain and Hiddink, who says he suffered a similar injury in his playing career, feels it does not look good.

However, the Dutchman is now playing a waiting game over discovering for how long Zouma will be out of action for, with the centre-back needing an MRI scan.

Asked about Zouma after the final whistle on Sky Sports, Hiddink replied: "Tomorrow we know more, but if you have this injury – and everyone has seen how it is – hyper-extension is always bad.

"I had this same problem once and it hurts.

"But let's hope and see tomorrow what the MRIs will show", Hiddink added.

The draw against Manchester United leaves Chelsea in 13th spot in the Premier League with 30 points from 25 games.

The Blues are 17 points off a top four spot with just 13 league games remaining this season and look out of the race for Champions League football.
