Manchester United defender Daley Blind admits that his side are disappointed after conceding a late goal against Chelsea, but has stressed that overall it was a good performance.

Louis van Gaal’s men started the game strongly, and forced Thibaut Courtois into making a few good saves in the first half and again started well after the break, which culminated into Jesse Lingard giving the lead to the visitors just after the hour mark.

However, after conceding the goal Chelsea grew stronger and did put immense pressure on the Manchester United defence towards the last quarter of the game, which eventually resulted in Diego Costa’s equaliser in stoppage time to earn a point for the Blues.

Blind admits that conceding a late equaliser was always going to be a bitter experience for his side, but he stressed that Manchester United played some quality football which was pleasing to see.

Manchester United dropped further behind in the race for a top four place, but the Dutchman insisted that the team need to take each game as it comes, without thinking too far ahead.

The defender told the BBC: "Of course we are disappointed.

“The late goal was disappointing but I think overall we played a good game. They were stronger for the last 15 minutes but overall we can be happy with our play.

"We played with a lot of confidence. We passed the ball quickly from side to side but we had some things we can work on.

"It is a crazy league but we have to look to ourselves, game-by-game."
