Ben Wrigglesworth, who served as head of technical scouting for Premier League leaders Leicester City, has confirmed that he has joined title-challengers Arsenal as a first team video scout.

Wrigglesworth moved to the King Power Stadium in 2012, before which he was a first team performance analyst intern at Notts County. He joined the Foxes as a technical scout intern and then became the technical scout.

Leicester City have been hailed for their recruitment over the last three seasons, which has seen them rise from the mediocrity of Championship to the top of the Premier League.

Wrigglesworth has been credited with the identification and signing of first team sensations including Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, among others.

Mahrez has been touted as many as this season’s player of the year, while Vardy is leading the goalscoring charts.

Wrigglesworth took to Twitter to thank the club for his time with them, he wrote: "After three-and-a-half unbelievable seasons, working with amazing people, I am now starting a new chapter.

"It was a very difficult decision, leaving Leicester, but I had to take an opportunity that doesn't come around often.

"I only wish the best for Leicester in the future, and will be eternally grateful to them for getting me to where I am."

Claudio Ranieri’s side secured a convincing 3-1 victory over title contenders Manchester City on Saturday and opened up a five-point lead at the top of the table with 13 games left in the season.
