Celtic boss Ronny Deila believes that it is natural for clubs to be interested in a player of Charlie Mulgrew's stature.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park with Premier League side Bournemouth and Championship side Blackburn Rovers having been linked with identifying the player as a possible transfer target for this summer.

The 40-year-old manager though remains calm about the entire situation, insisting that it is quite natural for clubs to be interested in such a talented player.

"It's normal for a player of Charlie's standard that other clubs are looking at him", Deila said at a press conference this afternoon when asked about the speculation around Mulgrew.

Meanwhile there has been a question mark over winger James Forrest, whose contract at Celtic has less than a year left to run.

Deila was asked about progress in making sure that Forrest remains at the club, but was not willing to be drawn on individual cases.

The Norwegian boss explained: "We haven't commented further on that.

"We work on different cases all the time."
