Celtic boss Ronny Deila has revealed that there are still doubts over the availability of attacking midfielder Kris Commons for the match against Ross County this weekend.

The 32-year-old has missed his side's last five games with a knee injury, but has resumed training of late with the manager confirming that the veteran midfielder is fit to take part in his team's matches.

However, Deila was also quick to confirm the fact that Commons has developed a little bit of sickness and therefore he will have to wait to hear about his fitness before taking a final call.

"He's been training the whole week so he’s fit to play. He’s been a little bit sick too so we’ll see how he is", Deila said at a pre-match press conference.

With the player not having taken part in an entire 90 minute game for a long time, the 40-year-old manager insists that his focus will be on getting the player back to his best level before including him in the starting line-up.

"He has only played a one game in a long time so his and our focus is to get him up to his best level."

Deila was also vocal about the possible revenge angle that they might be looking at during this weekend's match, with his side having lost 3-1 against the same opponents the last time around in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

"Revenge is the wrong word but we want to bounce back after the semi-final."
