Rangers legend John Brown has heaped praise on Dominic Ball, following the youngster’s impressive performances in the present campaign.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Gers on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has thus far made 19 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish giants.

Despite being a centre-back, Ball has also managed to slot in as a defensive midfielder with aplomb in the absence of fellow summer signing Andy Halliday.

Ball’s displays as a holding midfielder have impressed Mark Warburton so much that he has continued to deploy the Englishman in the same role, even after Halliday returned to the squad.

And Brown, who explained that he has been impressed with Ball, insisted that the player’s versatility is a huge advantage for Rangers.

“Ball coming in has impressed, and he’s getting regular games which is a big plus for the club, and there is the option to play him in midfield too”, he told the club’s official site.

Ball, who is a product of Spurs’ youth system, spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Cambridge United.
