Leeds United head coach Steve Evans has decided against speaking about signing players during the loan window.

The club received widespread criticism from the fans after they failed to add new faces to the squad on deadline day and Toumani Diagouraga and Mustapha Carayol remained their only two January signings.

The Leeds boss later revealed that they could not get a couple of deals over the line in the final hours of the winter window, but there is speculation that the club are up for a few deals during the emergency loan window, which opened earlier this week.

However, the Scot refused to talk about signing any new players during the loan window and insisted that he will only speak when there is some sort of positive news available regarding bringing in fresh faces.

The Leeds boss, when asked about his plans for the loan window, referred to having kept the signing of Diagouraga low key and insisted he wants to employ the "swan effect".

"I think the best way I can say it is when Toumani joined us no one knew about it until perhaps a couple of hours before putting pen to paper", Evans told LUTV.

“What I want to do is talk nothing about players coming and almost like the swan effect.

“Let people work hard, below the surface, and if there is anything to speak about, to let the supporters know [then], they will be the first to know when something positive is going to happen.”

Leeds are currently 15th in the league table, and Evans is said to be looking to strengthen the squad in order to finish the season strongly.
