Leeds United assistant manager Paul Raynor has stressed that his side’s complete focus is on the Middlesbrough game on Monday and they are not thinking about their FA Cup clash at Watford for the moment.

The Whites have suffered a slump in form in recent weeks and have won just once in their last eight league fixtures, but they have two big games coming up in the next week.

Steve Evans’ side will host table topping Middlesbrough on Monday night, as they look to get their league form back on track, and then they will travel to Watford a week from tomorrow for their FA Cup fifth round clash.

However, Raynor insisted that the club’s complete focus is on the Boro game as they need to repair their league form, and move up the Championship table with a win over the league leaders.

He added that Watford is also a big game for the club as they look to move into the latter stages of the FA Cup, but stressed that they will turn their attention towards their trip to Vicarage Road only after they are done with Middlesbrough on Monday.

When asked which one is the bigger game, Boro or Watford, the Leeds assistant said in a press conference: “We can’t say we have got one eye on Watford, as we have a massive game against Middlesbrough.

“The league position has to improve, and we want to get a win under our belt, that will certainly put a smile back on a lot of faces.

“So the real focus has to be Middlesbrough, but make no mistake as soon as that game ends we will turn our attention to what is an absolutely huge game for us.

“We are looking forward to being in the fifth round and the potential to go into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup is massive for us.”

Leeds are currently 16th in the league table on 36 points, and are keen to finish the season as close to the top ten as possible.
