Benfica have raised Renato Sanches’ buy-out-clause to €80m amidst interest from Real Madrid, according to Spanish daily Marca.

The 18-year-old, who broke into Benfica’s first team this season only, has been linked with a move away from the Portuguese club in the summer.

Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all interested in snapping up Sanches, who has scored two goals in 19 games this season.

As a result, Benfica previously increased the midfielder’s release clause from €30m to €45m, in addition to tying him to a contract until 2021.

But Real Madrid’s interest in the starlet prompted Benfica to up his buy-out-clause by a further €35m.

However, Benfica would accept any offer above €60m for Sanches, it has been claimed, which would make the youngster the most expensive transfer deal in Portuguese football, eclipsing the €55m paid by Russian outfit Zenit St. Petersburg for FC Porto’s Hulk in 2012.

Sanches is yet to earn a senior cap for Portugal, but he has represented the nation up to Under-19 level.
