Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has chosen to keep mum about his side holding talks with playmaker Christian Eriksen over a renewal of his contract.

Recent reports have suggested that the Lilywhites are keen to tie down the Danish international to a new long-term contract in order to prevent any possible interest from other clubs in their prized asset.

Eriksen, who still has two more years to run on his contract, has been in superb form for his side, having managed an overall 114 appearances for them so far over the course of the last three seasons, scoring 28 goals, while he has also provided his team-mates with 27 assists.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of their all important fixture against Manchester City, Pochettino stated that he preferred not to speak on such internal issues.

"They are just rumours. My policy is not to talk about this", Pochettino stated.
