Rangers manager Mark Warburton is unperturbed by the rescheduling of his side’s fixture against Greenock Morton from Saturday 12th March 15:00 to Friday 11th March 19:45.

Scottish Premiership holders, Celtic, travel to Partick Thistle on Saturday for their 15:00 kick-off, and Police Scotland advised the SPFL to move the Gers’ game.

The Ibrox outfit explored the possibility of a change in kick-off time of their clash, or to shift the clash to Sunday, but both their attempts were rejected by Police Scotland, following consultation from SPFL.

Warburton insists that he understands the reason of the SPFL for rescheduling it to a Friday, as they are trying to avert a possible situation.

The 53-year-old also admitted that the supporters should not suffer because of fixture change, but feels that the circumstances demand it and the club will have to deal with it.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Warburton said: “No, I understand why, there’s a reason for it, an issue that they [Police Scotland] want to make sure there’s no problems rather, so it has happened and there’s no problem for us.

“Obviously you never want supporters to anyway put out, but I understand why it has to happen and there are reasons behind it, and we have to deal with that.”

The Gers travel to the Recreation Park to take on bottom places Alloa Athletic tomorrow and will be hoping to return to Glasgow with the three points.
