Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp thinks his concerns over the level of wind in the United Kingdom have been brushed aside.

Klopp feels that wind is often a big factor in games played in the UK and says he has tried to point out the fact.

The German finds the UK a windy island, but feels that his concerns are not understood by people in the country, who write off its impact on games.

Klopp, speaking about when he makes a mistake when talking in English and how it is then spun by the media, told German magazine Reviersport: "When I make a mistake in English people don't always try to correct me when they know how it was meant.

"Instead the mistake is taken and used to make the story sound more dramatic. That's unpleasant", the former Borussia Dortmund manager continued.

"And that's what happened with the wind.

"Wind has a surprisingly big impact. It was dealt with very superficially because one person says 'what a stupid excuse' while the other one says 'seriously what impact can wind have?'

"Try and play football in Stoke on a windy day and tell me that it doesn't have an impact! I'd tell you that you have no idea.

"It's an island and we all know how windy it is on this island, but no one is interested. I mentioned it once and will leave it at that", the Liverpool manager added.

Klopp's reign at Anfield so far as seen Liverpool plagued by inconsistency and the Reds are a lowly eleventh in the Premier League, only two points better off than Chelsea, who lost nine of their opening 16 games, a run which cost Jose Mourinho his job.

The Reds boss has however managed to lead his side to the final of the League Cup, where they will face Manchester City at Wembley.

It remains to be seen how windy Wembley will be on 28th February.
