Former Liverpool midfielder Jason McAteer believes the Reds have a good chance of getting into the Champions League by winning the Europa League.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool were in fine form earlier today when they handed struggling Aston Villa a 6-0 drubbing at Villa Park.

The German was beaming about the fact that all six of his side's goals were scored by different players and Liverpool now look forward to next week's Europa League game against FC Augsburg in good heart.

McAteer thinks Liverpool are hitting form at the right time with the League Cup final against Manchester City at the end of the month, while he also believes Klopp's men could win the Europa League to reach the Champions League.

After the game on LFC TV, McAteer said: "You want to fgo into a cup final with form and confidence and a result like that gives you confidence.
