Manchester United loanee Nick Powell forgot to watch his parent team’s Europa League fixture with FC Midtjylland last night, as he was busy playing FIFA.

The forward, who struggled for game time at Old Trafford in the present campaign, joined Championship outfit Hull City on a loan deal until the end of the season during the winter transfer window.

But Powell failed to remember to watch Manchester United’s Europa League Round of 32 first leg clash against FC Midtjylland, a game the Red Devils lost 2-1 in Denmark, owing to him playing FIFA, according to the Press Association.

However, the 21-year-old, who joined Manchester United from Crewe Alexandra in 2012, insisted that the Old Trafford outfit should have won the match against the Danish team.

"There's no excuse, they should have won", he said.
