Leeds United boss Steve Evans has taken a dig at former Whites and Rotherham United manager Neil Redfearn by saying that it is his players who are currently turning around the Millers' season.

Evans left Rotherham in September last year along with his assistant Paul Raynor, and took charge of Leeds United in October after Uwe Rosler was sacked at Elland Road.

On the other hand, Redfearn, who was sacked in the summer at Leeds, took over from Evans at the New York Stadium, but was shown the door in February with the club languishing in 22nd in the league table.

While they are still not out of the relegation zone, the Millers have won three on the bounce in the Championship under Neil Warnock and are just a point away from safety at the moment.

Evans is happy to see Rotherham do well and pointed out that it is his players who have been instrumental in their current run of form, and not the ones favoured by Redfearn.

The Scot, following Leeds' 2-0 win at Cardiff, said on BBC Radio Leeds: “I am pleased to see Rotherham win.

“It is interesting that it’s the Steve Evans players winning and not the players that got chopped out of the team once Neil [Redfearn] went in.

“That’s just a fact.”

Evans has one more opportunity to put one over his former employers when he takes his Leeds side to the New York Stadium to take on Rotherham on 2nd April.
