Manchester United and Arsenal were two of the big clubs who sent scouts to watch Rennes take on Lyon last night.

With the season coming to an end and the summer transfer window approaching, the top clubs across Europe are stepping up on their efforts to identify players they want to sign before the start of the new campaign.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal have been criticised for their transfer recruitment in recent seasons, for different reasons, and the English giants are gearing up another busy summer, where they are expected to considerably strengthen their squads.

And scouts from both clubs were present at Roazhon Park to watch Rennes in action against Lyon in a French top tier clash.

The game ended in a 2-2 draw, and Alexandre Lacazette, who has been on the radar for a number of top European clubs since last summer, was on the scoresheet for Lyon.

Scouts from Serie A heavyweights such as AC Milan, Juventus and Fiorentina also took in the action.
