Leeds United boss Steve Evans has revealed that that his side have consigned the Brighton debacle to their past and are now looking forward.

Things were looking dark for Leeds after their 4-0 pasting at Brighton last month, and there were fears that they could get sucked into the relegation dogfight, with Evans’ job also coming under scrutiny.

However, that looks like the distant past at the moment as Leeds have bounced back with three crucial wins on the trot against Bolton, Cardiff and Blackburn, and are now looking upwards, rather than over their shoulders.

Evans feels the club collectively needed to react to the humiliating defeat on the south coast, and believes that with three big wins, his players have firmly put the Brighton debacle behind them.

When asked how his players reacted after Brighton, the Leeds boss said in a press conference: “You look for a reaction, not only from your players, but from your staff and yourself.

“I think I said that we needed to take collective responsibility for what happened at Brighton, but that is far away from our minds now.

"The next game at Bolton was a big win, and for different reasons, [the wins] at Cardiff and at Ewood Park as well [were important].

“Our only focus now is nothing to do with the games that are over, but it’s Huddersfield Town on Saturday.”

Leeds are confident of finishing in the top ten and will be looking to get another three points on that quest tomorrow in the Yorkshire derby.
