New Rangers winger Michael O'Halloran has revealed that he will not be sitting with his father at Hampden to watch the Old Firm derby in the Scottish Cup semi-final next month.

O'Halloran, who joined the Gers from St Johnstone during the January transfer window, will play no part in the Old Firm derby as he is cup tied; the 25-year-old represented the Scottish Premiership outfit in the Scottish Cup earlier in the season.

The Scot will however travel to Hampden to cheer his side from the stands, with O’Halloran insisting that he is “gutted” to miss out on a game of such magnitude.

But O’Halloran explained that he will not sit with his father, who is a youth coach at Celtic, during the clash between the two Scottish giants’ on 17th April.

“I am gutted to miss out but I kind of expected it to happen", he was quoted as saying by the Herald Scotland.
