England Under-19 international Josh Onomah admits he was delighted to see Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Kyle Walker-Peters make it to the first team squad for the match against Bournemouth last weekend.

The 18-year-old was on the bench witnessing his side demolish Bournemouth 3-0 at White Hart Lane and though he failed to make his senior debut during the course of the match, his team-mate is happy that the youngster had the opportunity to share the dressing room with the seniors.

And now as the two players team up for England Under-19s' European Championship qualifiers in Spain, Onomah hopes that his fellow Tottenham academy team-mate will prove his selection right and perform.

“It’s great to have Kyle in the squad”, Onomah told his club's official website.

“I was happy for him to get on the bench for the first team at the weekend."

As far as chemistry within the England Under-19 squad for the three qualifiers against Georgia, Greece and Spain are concerned, the youngster believes that the players being good friends with each others will help.

Moreover, having won the European Championship two years ago with England Under-17s, Onomah feels confident going into the qualifiers.

"In terms of our squad as a whole, we’re all good friends so that should stand us in good stead.

“We’ve got a strong team, we’ve gelled together well and we’re confident going into these qualifiers as Under-17 champions.”
