Liverpool linked goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has indicated that he may quit Barcelona in the summer in search of more playing time.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool during the January transfer window, has been mostly used in cup competitions since joining Barcelona from Borussia Monchengladbach at the start of last season, with coach Luis Enrique preferring Chile international Claudio Bravo for La Liga games.

Ter Stegen has made 20 appearances in all competitions in the present campaign, including four in the league.

And the Germany international, who insisted that he will assess his future at Barcelona if the situation does not change, was however, quick to add that presently he is focused on doing well for the Catalan giants.

“If the situation stays the way it is, then of course we’ve got to talk about it at some stage”, Ter Stegen told German broadcaster Sport1.

“In the long run, it’s very tough for a goalkeeper of my age.

“I am not concerned about other teams as we are yet to reach that situation.

“Football is my job and at the moment the next game counts, and I am not thinking about what I would do next.

“Barca are fantastic club, but until the summer things can change.”

Ter Stegen, whose present contract with Barcelona runs until 2019, has thus far amassed 41 appearances for the Spanish champions, keeping 15 clean sheets.

He also has four senior caps for Germany to his name.
