Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is of the opinion that people will be surprised after incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola makes his mark in English football.

The highly decorated manager, who is currently in charge of Bayern Munich, is set to replace Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City’s helm next season.

Guardiola guided Barcelona to 14 trophies, including three La Liga titles and two Champions Leagues, during his four-year stay at the Camp Nou between 2008 and 2012 before Bayern Munich appointed him in 2013.

The Spaniard has thus far helped the Bavarians to two Bundesliga titles, one German Cup, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup.

And Ozil, who watched Guardiola at close quarters during his spell at Real Madrid, insisted that he is curious to see how the 45-year-old molds Manchester City to his liking.

"It is again interesting to see who invests in who and how much the clubs do during the summer break”, he was quoted as saying by ITV.

"In addition, great coaches are coming into the league. I am thinking primarily of Pep Guardiola.

“Wherever he has been, he had success. He is a coach, keen on playing and his teams are feared.

"I wonder what he will do with Man City. He will be imprinting his football in England and people will be surprised."

Guardiola’s present employers, who are currently five points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table, have also managed to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will face Benfica.
