Rangers have confirmed that Harry Forrester have signed a contract extension which will keep him at the club until 2019.

The attacking midfielder initially joined the Scottish giants from Doncaster Rovers on an initial six-month deal during the winter transfer window.

Forrester, who was surplus to requirements at the League One club, has managed to impress during his time at Ibrox.

The 25-year-old has thus far made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Gers, scoring five times and setting up one goal.

As a result, Rangers decided to extend Forrester’s contract at the club beyond the season.

The Englishman, who has helped Rangers to win the Scottish Championship and the Challenge Cup this season, is a product of Aston Villa’s youth system.

Forrester failed to break into the Villains’ first team and served a loan spell at Kilmarnock in 2010 before signing permanently for Brentford a season later.

The Aston Villa academy graduate, who then joined Doncaster Rovers in 2013, has represented England at the Under 16 and Under-17 levels.
