West Ham manager Slaven Bilic admits that he wants Manchester United to win the FA Cup to boost his side’s European hopes next season.

With four games left in the season, the Hammers are gunning for a top six position this season to qualify for the Europa League, and they are current placed sixth in the Premier League table, just a point ahead of Liverpool in seventh.

Bilic admits that while Europa League qualification remains in their hands, the margin of error is minimal, as Liverpool and Southampton are snapping at their heels in the league table.

Therefore, the West Ham boss admits that he is backing Manchester United to win the FA Cup, as it will open up one more spot in the Europa League for a Premier League team as the Red Devils, who are currently fifth in the table, will automatically qualify as domestic cup winners.

The Croat said in a press conference: "Top six is a target and has been for quite a while. With four games to go, we have a little gap but we can't afford to lose games.

"We are feeling really motivated and good. And of course we would like to see Manchester United win the FA Cup to give us a cushion as well.

"Of course everything is in our hands, so we would rather do it ourselves than wait a week after the season and be a Manchester United fan."

Manchester United have a chance to equal Arsenal’s record haul of 12 FA Cups if they beat Crystal Palace in the final next month at Wembley.
