Former Liverpool striker Fabio Borini believes that the difference between Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp is striking when it comes to the enthusiasm and treatment of players.

Rodgers signed Borini from Roma in the summer of 2012, but the striker failed to make his mark at Anfield despite his three-year association with the club. He just made 38 senior appearances for the Reds, before he joined Sunderland in August last year.

The Italian struggled to get into the Liverpool side in his final season at Anfield, and despite the Reds’ scarcity of goals in the 2014/15 campaign, Rodgers rarely gave Borini an opportunity to make his mark.

While Borini left the club before Klopp took charge in October, he feels the German is vastly different from the Northern Irishman as the current Liverpool manager makes sure that each player feels important in the squad, regardless of how many games they are playing.

The Sunderland forward told Sky Italia: “There are many differences between Rodgers and Klopp, when it comes to enthusiasm.

“Klopp makes you feel that you are part of something, which was not the case with Rodgers.”

Borini is currently trying to help Sunderland beat the drop and survive in the Premier League. He has scored four league goals and provided two assists in 23 appearances for the club.
