Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not keen to employ any excuses for their 3-1 loss at Swansea City today and has insisted that the home side were deserving winners.

Jordan Ayew scored a brace, and Jack Cork also found the back of the net to get a much needed three points for the Swans and the win also helped the home side to mathematically get out of the relegation dogfight.

On the other hand it seems possible that Liverpool’s hopes of playing in Europe will depend on them winning the Europa League and the Reds boss admits that his side are capable of playing much better football.

With an eye on Thursday’s crucial Europa League encounter, Klopp named a youthful side, but he is not keen to use it as an excuse and stressed that Swansea deserve to win at the Liberty Stadium today.

The Liverpool boss told the BBC: "We changed the line-up and with this line-up we can play much better football. We could explain a few things and it would sound like an excuse.

"This performance was not enough.

"We cannot be sure but if we don't concede the third one it's an open game. You can see there was not the body language you need for a comeback, though.

"We deserved to lose, they deserved to win, that's how football is on a bad day.

"I thought we lost a lot of easy balls, we weren't compact, there were a lot of things we could've done better.

"If we'd played a normal game, we could have won."

Liverpool’s next Premier League’s commitment is next Sunday when they will be hosting Watford at Anfield.
