Rangers manager Mark Warburton is keen on Blackburn Rovers defender Grant Hanley, who is considering his options at Ewood Park, according to the Times.

Warburton, who has regularly done business south of the border since taking over at Ibrox, is looking to strengthen his squad ahead of Rangers' return to the Scottish Premiership next season.

With Dominic Ball's loan at the club from Tottenham Hotspur due to end, Warburton is keen to draft in another centre-back and Blackburn man Hanley, who may be available for around £3m and is under contract until 2018, fits the bill.

Hanley himself may be open to a move to Ibrox as he is considering his options following Blackburn's disappointing campaign in the Championship.

Boss Paul Lambert has already confirmed he will leave Ewood Park in the summer and Rovers are placed 15th in the Championship table with one game to play.
