Paris Saint-Germain recently met representatives of sought-after Rennes winger Ousmane Dembele, but they have not yet made an offer for the talent.

The 18-year-old, who has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances in all competitions in the present campaign, has attracted the interest of several top European clubs such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund even put forward a bid for Dembele which was duly knocked back by Rennes.

It now seems PSG are the latest entrant in the race for the highly-rated French starlet, who is contracted with Rennes until 2018.

PSG assistant sporting director Olivier Letang recently met with the player’s entourage, but according to French magazine France Football, it was merely to gather information about the youngster, with the Parc des Princes outfit yet to make a bid for him.

Dembele, who is a product of Rennes’ youth system, has represented France up to Under-21 level.

It remains to be seen whether he views his future as best served by remaining in France, which would put PSG in pole position, or wishes to head abroad.
