Leeds United head coach Steve Evans says he does not know whether he will be at the club's Thorp Arch training ground on Monday.

Evans, who saw his Leeds side play out a 1-1 draw with Preston North End at Deepdale today to end the season sitting 13th in the Championship, has not yet been offered an extension to his contract.

His current deal expires in the summer and Evans does not know whether he will be at Leeds' training base tomorrow, although he has cut a less than confident figure, feeling things have changed over the last week.

He told BBC Radio Leeds following the final whistle: "I was in tears at the end and they are just fantastic supporters. They deserve a successful team and I really hope and pray that they get one.

"I thought, maybe a week ago, that I knew my future but I don't know. I need to let people above me make an informed decision and I will take it with grace and dignity", Evans continued.

"The feeling you get, I hope it's wrong, but if the decision is made for the benefit of the football club then I would endorse it.

"I will be the first to applaud them onto the pitch but I really feel, with the backing that will come here in the summer, that I have demonstrated that this club can reach the playoffs", he continued.

"I have to go home now and see what my president decides. I would love to be at Thorp Arch on Monday, planning the pre-season. I would still love for that to happen."

Evans was appointed to succeed German boss Uwe Rosler in October last year and given the job of making sure Leeds did not slip down into the relegation spots.

Despite achieving his task, it is looking increasingly unlikely that Evans will be kept on as Leeds manager into next term, with Cellino demanding a promotion tilt.
