Ligue 1 giants Lyon are interested in Atletico Madrid defender Lucas Hernandez, who has also been linked with Arsenal.

The 20-year-old centre-back, who was born in Marseille but came through the youth ranks at the Vicente Calderon, has featured heavily for Diego Simeone's men during the second half of the season.

Hernandez's heroics have not gone unnoticed and he has been mooted as a potential signing for Premier League heavyweights Arsenal.

However, according to El Mundo Deportivo, there is interest from his native France in the form of Lyon.

Les Gones currently sit second in Ligue 1 with a single game left to play this season and have ensured they will be in the Champions League for the 2016/17 campaign.

A switch back to France might help Hernandez's international ambitions, as he continues to wait for his first senior Les Bleus' cap.

However, it remains less than clear whether Atletico Madrid will be willing to let the 20-year-old move on, especially given how often he has featured in recent months.

Overall, Hernandez has made 15 appearances for Los Rojiblancos this season.
