Super agent Jorge Mendes will meet Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in the next few weeks to discuss the future of his client James Rodriguez, who is being courted by Arsenal and Manchester City.

Rodriguez joined the club in 2014, and was one of the star performers in his first season at the Bernabeu, but his second campaign in a Real Madrid shirt has been disappointing.

He has suffered a few injuries during the course of the season and has not been a guaranteed starter under the tutelage of Zinedine Zidane over the past few months.

There is speculation that the winger might be contemplating his future at the club this summer and according to El Confidencial, Mendes will meet the Real Madrid president in the next few weeks to discuss his client’s future.

While Zidane is aware that Rodriguez remains a highly talented individual, it has been suggested that he would not oppose the Colombian’s sale, indicating all is not well between the player and the Real Madrid boss.

Arsenal and Manchester City are keeping close tabs on Rodriguez’s situation in the Spanish capital and are interested in signing the player should he become available.

The Colombian, who has a contract until 2020 with the club, could be convinced his future lies away from Real Madrid and is waiting for the outcome of his agent’s meeting with Perez.
