FC Basel have denied rumours that they have received any offer from Tottenham Hotspur for their young forward Breel Embolo.

A product of the Basel academy, the 19-year-old has impressed one and all with his performances in the Swiss league and has notched up 13 goals in the campaign, despite not playing as a central striker regularly.




The youngster’s consistent performances have attracted the attention of some of the bigger names in Europe and there have been talkTottenham are interested in signing Embolo this summer.

There have also been rumours that they have opened talks with Basel over a deal, but club president Bernhard Heusler stressed that he has no offers on his table from the north London outfit.
 


When asked about talks with Spurs regarding Embolo, the Basel president told Swiss daily Blick: “I cannot confirm that.

“No offer exists from Tottenham, and there is nothing to suggest that Breel’s path leads into that direction.

“It is one of the rumours that are being thrown around at the moment.”

Despite his tender years, Embolo has already notched up 90 appearances for Basel’s senior side and has also earned nine international caps for Switzerland.
