Turkish giants Fenerbahce are interested in appointing Manchester United linked Jose Mourinho as their next manager.

The Portuguese has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in December and has been incessantly linked with the Manchester United hot seat over the last few months.

Louis van Gaal remains confident that he will be Manchester United manager next season despite his team missing out on Champions League football, but there are suggestions that Mourinho has a gentleman’s agreement in place with the club and will take over from the Dutchman this summer.

Mourinho recently said that he has not agreed a deal with any club, and it seems he has one more suitor in the market as it has been claimed that Fenerbahce are eyeing him as their next manager.

Fenerbahce are set to finish runners-up to rivals Besiktas in the league and are keen to respond next term.

And according to Turkish sports daily Fanatik, club president Aziz Yildirim dreams of appointing two-time Champions League winning manager Mourinho in the summer.

Fenerbahce are ready to offer a big money contract to the former Chelsea boss to entice him to Turkey and are expected to contact his entourage soon.

It has been suggested that Mourinho is still eyeing the Manchester United job and is willing to wait until the end of the season to see whether Van Gaal survives the cull.
