Avellino have become the latest club to join the scramble for Mirco Antenucci, who is leaving Leeds United when his contract expires this summer.

Antenucci spent two seasons at Elland Road, regularly hitting the back of the net for the Championship side, but Leeds recently confirmed that he is not being offered a new contract and is being released.

As a free agent the striker is becoming an increasingly attractive prospect for a number of Italian clubs, who are eyeing taking Antenucci back to his homeland.

And, according to Italian daily Il Mattino, Avellino are interested in snapping up the striker.

Avellino were keen on Antenucci in the winter transfer window, but Leeds insisted on not selling the forward.
