MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has turned down the Leeds United job, despite meeting with the club's chairman Massimo Cellino.

Current Leeds head coach Steve Evans is expected to be replaced at Elland Road when his contract runs out at the end of June and Cellino is scouring all Europe for his successor.

He settled on Robinson, whose MK Dons side were relegated from the Championship this season, but has been turned down.

Indeed, according to BBC Three Counties, Cellino met Robinson in London last week.

The Italian was hoping to convince Robinson to leave MK Dons and head to take up the challenge at Leeds, where he is keen for a promotion push to be on the cards next season.

But Cellino appears not to have been able to persuade Robinson to take the job and the MK Dons boss turned down his offer.

The Italian supremo will now continue his search, seemingly having ruled out keeping Evans despite the Scot leading Leeds to a finish of 13th in the Championship table when the target he was given was to avoid relegation to League One.
