Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has explained that he is currently not thinking about the possibility of joining Manchester United in the summer as his focus solely lies on the European Championship.

The Portugal international, who is set to represent his nation in the upcoming continental competition in France, has been heavily linked with making a move to Manchester United.

Gomes scored four goals and provided seven assists in 41 appearances in all competitions after joining Valencia from Benfica last summer.

The 22-year-old’s impressive performances in the 2015/16 campaign have attracted the interest of Manchester United, with Juventus also keen to rope in the youngster.

Valencia have slapped a €65m asking price on Gomes to scare away potential suitors, but Juventus are willing to offer a package of around €50m for the Portuguese.

However, with Manchester United set to name Jose Mourinho as their new manager, Gomes could head to Old Trafford in the summer, with Jorge Mendes being the agent of the duo.

But Gomes insisted that presently he is fully focused on doing well for Portugal in the European Championship next month.

"It's not important at this point of time”, he was quoted as saying by Portuguese outlet DN Sport.

"We are all Portuguese at the moment, and that's the only interest I will talk about."

Gomes, who is contracted with Valencia until 2020, has five caps for Portugal to his name.
