Tottenham Hotspur custodian Hugo Lloris has spoken about his delight at seeing his side enjoy the best defensive record in the Premier League.

The Lilywhites conceded a mere 35 goals during the entire season, the joint lowest along with Manchester United, though the north Londoners enjoy a superior goal difference.

It was Tottenham's best record since 1970/71 when they conceded 33, a fact that delights the French skipper. Lloris, who has been at the centre of it all, insists that it is not in his nature to talk about saves.

A goalkeeper's job is one with a lot of responsibility, according to Lloris, and it also requires consistency. The player on his part is happy that he has managed to achieve that and the fact that Tottenham's defence holds the record of being the best bears testimony to that.

"I don’t really like to talk about saves". Lloris told his club's official website.

"Goalkeeping is a difficult job with lots of responsibility and the main thing is to try to be as consistent as possible throughout the season. That’s what I try to do.

"I’m really pleased to see the defence as the best in the league, that’s important for me and the defenders."

In the 37 league matches Lloris played this season, he managed a total of 13 clean sheets and was instrumental in helping his team finish third in the league table.
