Bundesliga club Hannover have confirmed that goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler is poised to join Premier League champions Leicester City.

The custodian is now on his way to England to hold talks with the King Power Stadium outfit, while he will then undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a deal with Claudio Ranieri's men.

Hannover sporting director Martin Bader told his club's site: "We wish him all the best. Ron will always be welcome in Hannover."

Zieler, who has won six senior caps for Germany, has taken advantage of a clause in his contract at the Bundesliga side which means he is available for a fee of just €3.5m this summer.

The goalkeeper will further add to Leicester boss Ranieri's options as the Foxes prepare for a season in which they will have Champions League football at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester's current number 1 is Kasper Schmeichel and Zieler may have his work cut out dislodging the Dane from the starting line-up.

However, the 27-year-old has experience of England due to time spent in the youth ranks at Manchester United, before he headed home to join Hannover in 2010.
