Valencia boss Pako Ayestaran has revealed that he wants to see Juventus and Manchester United target Andre Gomes continue at the Mestalla beyond the summer.

The 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder has been widely tipped to leave Valencia this summer, with Manchester United and Juventus said to be his likely destinations.

While the midfielder has said that he is currently keen to just concentrate on the European Championship, his agent Jorge Mendes is leading the talks with his suitors and Manchester United are believed to be the favourites to land the Portugal international.

Gomes is expected to leave Valencia and the Spanish giants are reportedly keen to pocket a fee of around €40m up front from the sale, but Ayestaran revealed that he wants the club to hold on to the Portuguese.

The Valencia boss told Spanish daily AS: "The club know my preferences, there is a consensus.

Gomes joined Valencia from Benfica in 2014, and has made 78 appearances for the club thus far.

He has a contract until 2020 with the Mestalla outfit.
