Interest in Sunderland winger Emanuele Giaccherini is hotting up, with the player's agent admitting that Fiorentina and Torino are now keen on scooping him up.

Giaccherini has just finished a season-long loan deal back in his native Italy with Bologna and his performances for the Rossoblu have been enough for clubs to sit up and take note.

The former Juventus man may well not return to Sunderland and could stay in his homeland, though his agent insists it will be for any interested parties to thrash out a deal acceptable to the Black Cats.

Giaccherini's first choice remains staying at Bologna however, with his agent Furio Valcareggi telling Radio Bologna Uno: "We repeated that he would like to stay at Bologna."

But should the Rossoblu not be able to keep Giaccherini, Fiorentina and Torino are quickly becoming options for the former Juventus man, with the agent claiming the Italy winger must look to maximise his career.

"Torino and Fiorentina are certainly on his trail.

"[Bologna] certainly have our recognition, but for us, they are an option like others, as he is a well known player and at some point you have to optimise your career as much as possible", Valcareggi continued.

"I repeat, those that are interested in the guy know they have to start a negotiation with Sunderland."

And the agent is confident that his client will find a solution as his performances in Serie A have attracted attention from a number of quarters.

"We are calm because thanks to Emanuele's good performances, we have two or three options. It's definitely not bad."

Sunderland appeared to have pulled off a coup when they signed the Italy international winger from Juventus in the summer of 2013, but Giaccherini struggled to make his mark in the Premier League.
