Mathieu Debuchy is not looking to remain at Bordeaux and is heading back to Arsenal following the completion of his loan, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

The right-back chose to head back to his homeland on loan in the winter transfer window after failing to dislodge Hector Bellerin in the Arsenal side.

Debuchy, who was keen to use regular first team football at Bordeaux to secure a spot in the France squad for Euro 2016, saw his loan spell disrupted by a thigh injury.

The defender's prospects at Arsenal are uncertain given Bellerin's superb season under Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium.

But he does not intend to look to remain at Bordeaux and has chosen to head back to Arsenal.
