Andre Gomes has talked up the qualities of new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, but refused to be drawn into thinking about a switch to Old Trafford.

Manchester United have been heavily linked with the Valencia midfielder, who is currently preparing for Euro 2016 with Portugal, while Italian champions Juventus also covet him.

Gomes has done his best to wave away transfer talk while he is on international duty, but in a press conference he did admit that he rates Manchester United's new manager Mourinho highly.

"I'm not worried about what will happen after the Euros", Gomes explained.

"I feel a positive anxiety for the return of the competition and I can only say that Mourinho is a great coach", the Valencia star continued.

"However, what my future will be is something a little bit on the side, because I am with the national team", he added.

Valencia are reluctant to lose Gomes this summer, but could have their resolve tested if a large offer drops from an interested club.

Gomes meanwhile may even attract more suitors if he turns on the style with Portugal at Euro 2016 in France this summer.

Portugal kick off their campaign by taking on Iceland on 14th June, while fixtures against Austria and Hungary then follow.
