West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has revealed that the Hammers currently have five bids in for players and he is hopeful of having good transfer news for the fans soon.

The Olympic Stadium club were praised for their smart work in the transfer market last summer as they signed players who powered a bright start to the season, including Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini.

Sullivan, who backed his side out of the race for Leicester City's Jamie Vardy due to financial concerns over his wages, is determined West Ham should repeat the trick this summer.

The co-chairman said via his club's site: "We have done that exceptionally well in recent years, with the likes of Winston Reid, Cheikhou Kouyate, Aaron Cresswell, Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini vindicating this approach.

"All of those players have gone on to become stars of our team and you can rest assured that we will be bringing players in this summer who will prove to be just as influential", Sullivan explained.
