Sunderland and Monaco are currently leading the chase to sign Lille full-back Djibril Sidibe, though Watford have also been linked with wanting to buy the 23-year-old.

The defender was in fine nick for the Ligue 1 outfit last season and has managed to attract the eyes of a few teams across Europe with his performances at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.




Watford have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old defender this summer, but it has been claimed that Sunderland are also interested in taking the Frenchman to England.

And according to L’Equipe, while Monaco are the ones who are currently doing all the legwork to sign Sidibe and are currently leading the chase for the Lille defender this summer., it is between the principality outfit and Sunderland as to the player's destination. 
 


A product of the Troyes academy, the defender joined Lille in 2012, and has established himself as one of the key performers in their starting eleven over the last few seasons.
