Chelsea are prepared to submit an offer of €30m for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Senegal international, who was in great form last season, has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer.

Koulibaly made 42 appearances in all competitions in the 2015/16 campaign and provided two assists in addition to providing solidity to Napoli’s defence.

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to bolster the Blues’ defence and has zeroed in on the 24-year-old, whose present contract with the Serie A outfit runs until 2019.

Despite Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis’ threats about suing both Chelsea and Koulibaly, the Blues are preparing a €30m bid for the centre-back.

The Senegalese recently said that he could soon speak to other clubs if contract talks with Napoli do not progress in the coming days.

The Premier League giants are willing to offer Koulibaly €4m per season at Stamford Bridge, compared to the €800,000 he earns presently at Napoli.

Koulibaly, who joined Napoli from Belgian club Genk in the summer of 2014, has six senior caps for Senegal to his name.
