Hamburg have slapped in a bid for wantaway Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, who has also been linked with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool.

The midfielder has been a star in Newcastle’s team since joining the club from Toulouse in 2013, but with the Magpies being relegated from the Premier League last season, Sissoko is keen to leave Tyneside this summer.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old and there is even suggestion that Chelsea and Liverpool are closely following developments at St. James’ Park regarding Sissoko’s future.

However, Newcastle have received their first concrete bid for the midfielder this summer from Germany, as according to French sports daily L’Equipe, Bundesliga outfit Hamburg have offered €12m for the Frenchman’s services.

Rafael Benitez remains keen to hold on to Newcastle’s top players in the transfer window and it has been claimed that the club are unlikely to entertain the offer from Hamburg.

He said in a press conference yesterday: “Right now, I only thinking about the Euros; I will wait to decide until after the tournament.”
