Sunderland winger Emanuele Giaccherini’s agent believes the Black Cats will not be able to ask for a hefty fee for his client this summer.

After struggling to make his mark at Sunderland following his move from Juventus in 2013, the Italian rekindled his career in Italy during his loan stint at Bologna last season.

With only a year left on his contract with the Black Cats, the 31-year-old is almost certain to leave Wearside this summer and he has number of suitors in Italy waiting to pounce.

Torino, Lazio, Fiorentina and Sampdoria have all been linked with a move for Giaccherini and even AC Milan are said to be keeping a close watch on the situation.

There has been speculation that Sunderland have jacked up the asking price for the striker after his goal against Belgium last night, but his agent, Giulio Marinelli, believes the Premier League club might not be able to earn a hefty fee from his client’s sale.

When asked about Sunderland’s demands, his agent told Calcio Mercato: “I think Sunderland cannot go beyond a figure that is around €2m.”

Sunderland forked out €7.5m for the winger when they signed him from Juventus in 2013, but he has scored just five times in 43 appearances for the club thus far.
